Deecell Power Systems Adds After Dark Low Qualifier Bonus to NHRA Sonoma Nationals
The highly anticipated Friday night session of the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge is set to become even more exciting with the addition of the Deecell Power Systems After Dark Low Qualifier Bonus.
Taking place on Friday, July 17, at Sonoma Raceway, the night qualifying session is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular experiences on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series calendar. This year, Deecell Power Systems is adding an extra competitive edge by rewarding the top performers under the lights.
Added Incentives for Friday Night’s Top Qualifiers
The Deecell Power Systems After Dark Low Qualifier Bonus will reward the quickest qualifiers across three premier NHRA categories: Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock.
Pro Stock will kick off the After Dark qualifying action at 6:55 p.m. PT, followed by the 12,000-horsepower, 340-mph Nitro categories at 8:10 p.m. PT.
The quickest driver in each category during the session will receive a cash bonus:
- Top Fuel Low Qualifier: $4,000
- Funny Car Low Qualifier: $4,000
- Pro Stock Low Qualifier: $2,500
The added prize money brings another level of competition to a session already known for exceptional performances, record-breaking speeds, and an electric atmosphere.
Record-Breaking Performances Under the Lights
Sonoma’s Friday night qualifying session has a reputation for producing unforgettable moments.
Last year, Brittany Force thrilled the crowd with a remarkable run of 3.645 seconds at 343.16 mph, setting a record speed at the time. With ideal conditions, passionate fans, and the added incentive of the Deecell After Dark Low Qualifier Bonus, the stage is set for another memorable night of racing in Sonoma.
Andrew Moeck, Founder of Deecell Power Systems, said:
“One of the best parts of last season was seeing how much excitement the After Dark Low Qualifier award created on Friday night in Seattle. The response from the racers and fans made bringing it to Sonoma an easy decision.
Sonoma is one of the premier stops on the NHRA tour, and Friday night under the lights is always one of the highlights of the weekend. It’s pretty exciting to know we play a small part in adding to the overall experience for fans and giving the racers one more thing to compete for.”
